Sigyn nodded and cradled her daughter close to herself. “Of course I do. What mother would I be if I didn’t love my own child?” She smiled softly and kissed Vála’s forehead and whispered softly. “Well, I can try and figure out a way to lift the curse, sweetheart. And do not listen to what others say. What they think shouldn’t bother you. You should be proud of who you are, my dear”

Vála shied away a bit from the kiss but smiled when it was pressed against her forehead. The young girl shook her head, “It’s impossible, it’s my destiny…Odin himself put the curse on me when I was very young…” She nodded at what her mother said about others and being proud of who she was though she was not entirely sure of herself. 

Sigyn let out a small laugh and smiled. “Then I’m sure it wasn’t a curse, sweetheart. Odin isn’t one to go about giving curses, sweetheart. Are you sure it isn’t a misunderstanding for something else?” Sigyn pursed her lips to the side, looking at her daughter with lavender blue eyes.

“No.” She said firmly, “it was him, his voice was the last I heard before I underwent my first change, he said it was punishment for something daddy had done…but I don’t know what…,” Vála brushed the last tears away, she wasn’t shocked that her mother didn’t believe her. Not many did. Who would believe a young girl such as herself?…well her father did. 

It wasn’t that Sigyn didn’t believe her, it was that something was very strange about the situation. “Well…Your father did try to rule over Midgard and overthrow Odin…” she pursed her lips to the side. “But maybe he did curse you for your father’s bad doings” Sigyn frowned and sighed softly.

” I don’t think daddy’s bad…he would make a good ruler of Asgard.” Vála whispered the last part as she folded her arms. She folded her arms, perhaps misunderstanding her mother. 

Sigyn let out another small laugh. “I know pumpkin. I was married to him.” She sighed and frowned. “I miss him greatly. And I know your father wasn’t a bad man. Odin didn’t understand your father at all, sweetheart. I think I and only a few others did.”

Vála sighed, ” I know…” she looked down at her feet, ” A part of me wishes we could be a family again” the young girl said suddenly, “but I know that isn’t going to happen,” She looked up at her mother, “As much as I love daddy and Uncle Balder, I still need a mommy, they don’t understand lady things” She added the last part with a soft giggle. 

Sigyn smiled softly and took her daughters hands. “Well, I don’t plan on going anywhere any time soon, sweetheart. So I’m here for you if you ever need me, darling.”

Vála smiled up at her mother and said smile only grew wider when she took her hand, “Thank you, mother.” was all she said. 

Sigyn smiled lovingly at her daughter. “I love you, Vála, and nothing will ever change that” She spoke gently and pulled her into a hug once more.
